Ben, in Cambridge during
the 2006 CUG dinner weekend.
Welcome to Ben Willetts's website. It was started on Geocities in 1997, in the Mathematics & Oceanography computer room at the University of Liverpool (while putting off my exam revision), and has been active ever since, although it's had one or two changes of style since then. It moved to Freeserve in 1999, and I acquired the benjw.org.uk domain in 2003. Since October 2006, it's now hosted by Pipex.
Apologies for the lack of update focus for the last few months — I had some problems updating the site after moving house and changing ISP back in June. Hopefully updates will be a bit more frequent from now on!
About me: I'm 28, was born in Tokoroa, New Zealand, grew up in Surrey, spent three years at the University of Liverpool reading Biochemistry (rather unsuccessfully), moved back to Surrey for a few years, and now live in Cambridge. I work for Royal Mail in (variously) Foxton, Harston, Haslingfield, Harlton and Great Eversden, which are villages a few miles south-west of Cambridge. My main hobbies are church bell-ringing, cycling, orchestral music and singing, and drinking real ale (which kind of goes with the others anyway), and I'm about to start studying for a BSc in Mathematics with the Open University.
I don't have a blog, just ringing records, so there's not much on this website unless you avidly follow my ringing (or the
comments on it). See the menu on the left, or go to the ringing records page for
lots of meaningless statistics. A few people have requested a comments facility, though, which I intend to try to
implement as soon as I find out what this "free time" thing is. For now, though, you can
email me
them to me if you want – at
